--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Operation Round-Up is a community service program funded by the members of Wharton County Electric Cooperative, Inc. As a participant, your electric bill is rounded up to the nearest dollar each month and the few extra cents go into the Operation Round-Up fund. Your average annual tax-deductible contribution is about $6 per account enrolled.

For example, if your monthly bill is $92.56, it is automatically rounded up to $93.00.

Operation Round-Up was started at WCEC in 2003 and is a separate entity from WCEC. Funds are spent locally and is intended to benefit 501(c)(3) organizations within the cooperative service area.

 Contributions go to:

  • Rural Fire Departments

  • Community Service Projects

  • Veterans Programs

  • Education and Youth Projects

  • Crisis Centers

A 501(c)(3) organization may request a 2018 application for consideration. Applications and documentation are due by December 31st.

For more information on how to participate in the program, contact WCEC at 979-543-6271 or stop by our office at 1815 E. Jackson Street in El Campo.
